Corporate Health Screening and Wellbeing

As of August, we are looking to expand our Health Screening services to the corporate market. As a Paramedic and trainer, I am very passionate about health, lifestyle and wellbeing and as part of my plan to expand the company, we are introducing corporate health screening and wellbeing to our services.

The primary aim of this service is to help employers provide further benefits to their employees in the form of health screening and wellbeing sessions. We want to help companies improve staff morale which will make being at work a more enjoyable experience, leading to a more productive workforce. Like any health screening session, we also want to help people identify any poor lifestyle factors and educate them on what they can do differently to improve their lifestyle which will help reduce the risk of potential disease.

Before but most certainly during the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a Paramedic, I realised the importance of staff wellbeing and what it can do for work performance. There is now more of an emphasis on wellbeing and particularly looking after mental health at work. As a result of the pandemic, there continues to be a rise in mental health conditions. These can be due to a number of factors ranging from the increased cost of living to reduced social contact during the pandemic and even now after the world is slowly returning back to normal. Another factor I have identified which not only impacts staff wellbeing but mental health in general is an unhealthy lifestyle. This can range from a poor diet, lack of exercise, drinking and smoking excessively to staring at your phone all day browsing the social media feeds.

Along with mental health conditions, Type 2 Diabetes Melitus (T2DM), Obesity, Hypertension are continuing to rise in the UK. We want to provide employees the opportunity to have a one-to-one consultation with a wellbeing coach to see if there is anything we can do to improve their existing lifestyle.

Largely, these conditions are avoidable if you maintain a healthy lifestyle which includes a balanced diet and plenty of exercise. With a health lifestyle, you can greatly reduce the risk of T2DM, Obesity and Hypertension and further down the line, serious complications such as heart disease and strokes. I know a lot of GP's, bloggers and other professionals say this, but they are all right. As a Paramedic, I see the complications and the unpleasant effects of a poor lifestyle and what it can do to you acutely but also long term. I want to put my knowledge and experience I have gained as a Personal Trainer and bring it together with my training as a Paramedic.

As part of this service we want to provide companies with high quality health screening and wellbeing services for their employees for an affordable price. We firmly believe health and fitness should be a lifestyle and not a luxury and by offering companies this service, we hope it will help boost and maintain staff morale which will lead to a more productive workforce.
